EDMONTON GREEN ALMOST FULLY LET AS VALUE RETAIL CONTINUES TO THRIVE

14 May 2010

The UK’s leading regeneration specialists North London scheme continues to attract household names.

St. Modwen’s scheme at Edmonton Green is now nearly fully let in the face of a tough economic climate, demonstrating that centres with a value offer are still ahead of the retail pack.

There are now only eight vacant units left in the scheme with two of those already under offer and strong interest in two of the others. This follows lettings secured by St. Modwen, to Card Factory and Holland & Barrett which are now open and trading.

Card Factory has taken a 2,860 sq ft store at £40,000 pa on a 10-year lease with a break at five. Holland & Barrett has relocated from its existing store in the centre to take a larger 2619 sq ft unit adjacent to Card Factory on the South Mall at £41,000 pa on a 10-year lease. Other existing retailers in the Centre include ASDA, Tesco, Peacocks, Boots, Phones 4U, Bon Marché, Argos Extra, Dreams, Sam 99p and Cilek.

Gary Morris, Senior Development Manager at St. Modwen commented: “In difficult trading conditions Edmonton Green continues to stand out as another success story in our portfolio, both in terms of leasing and trading performance and we’re pleased that both these national retailers have recognised the continuing success of the Centre. Today’s shopper is looking for good value and a varied offer and with a mix of leisure, retail and a busy market, Edmonton Green ticks all the boxes.”
